Sharon has used decorative papers, fussy cut elements, lace and stickers to make this sweet baby card.

The base is a side stepper card from Regal Craft Cards (ST1) which provides a great starting point to decorate for any occasion.

I probably don't need to write too much about how to make these cards because a close look at the photos will tell you how they have been made.

Janet (top card) has collected  a variety of themed items to make a baby card, whilst Maz has fussy cut and shaped some patterned paper for her thankyou card.

Both have used Regal's "Desert Haze Stitches card" (XTH2) as a base.  I think I've probably mentioned before how versatile these cards are.  You can achieve a very effective result  in quite a short time as well as using up a lot of those little bits and pieces kept "just in case."

This is also a great card to make with young crafters or beginners as a great result is almost guaranteed.

Regal craft cards have lots of vintage postcards, and photoslot card bases too, so this takes a lot of the work out of making these cards.  Both examples use sets of nesting dies. 

Choose the focus of your cutting - in this example the baby's face, and the man and two children, and make sure that the smallest die (placed cutting side down) frames this area nicely.  Position the rest of the dies evenly around the smallest.  You can use as many dies as you like (and will fit) but three is about right for this size of postcard.

Use removable tape (or magnet) to keep the dies in place and run though your cutting machine with whatever stack you usually use for die-cutting.  Carefully remove the pieces.

Replace the pieces, using double sided foam tape or silicone glue to add increasing or decreasing height. The baby shows the pieces stacked up so that the face is the highest point, so the first (larges) die-cut went in with one piece of foam tape, the next was stuck in using two, and the third using three.  The man and children, was stacked the opposite way so that the design was inverted with the people in the centre at the lowest point, and the border dies getting progressively highter, so that you end up looking into the picture. 

Its hard to see the three dimensional characteristics of these cards from the picture, but have a play, you'll be pleased with the results, which are always quite effective (with not nearly as much work involves as there appears to be!)

This is another really simple card that looks a lot harder to construct than it actually is.

I've started with a square base - a singlefold card from Regal Craft Cards.  By overlapping the fold just a little bit with a scallop edged circle die, and then running it through the Go Cut and Emboss machine, I've created a Scalloped Circle card.

Its then just a matter of decoration.  I've used a leftover motif die-cut from a Sparklelight sheet and various other nesting scallop circle shapes, and added a little assembly of a silk flower, twine and lace at the top.

I like that the card will still stand but will rock gently (it seems appropriate for a baby card) but if you prefer your cards to be well- grounded you can always remove a small section at the bottom to create a flat base.

I've used one of Regal's scallop-edged cards as a base for this little card.  "Sue" is a traditional applique pattern - you'll find lots of variations on-line and in quilting books.  I just cut the pieces out of paper rather than fabric (much easier!!) and assembled them on an embossed background, stuck to some patterned paper.  All that remained was to add a diecut greeting and a little bow!

When most of the attention is on a new baby, its important to let the other children in the family know that they're not forgotten.

A new great-nephew inspired this card, which wasn't quick to make, but certainly isn't difficult.

The base is a single fold white card from Regal Craft Cards and the background is Kaiser paper.
The little boy is a LalaLand stamp that has been stamped onto lots of different coloured papers, then cut out and re-assembled on a stamped base (i.e. paper pieced).  The very fine detail (the star on his constume, belt buckle and detail on boots) has been added with silver pen, and a little bit of colour to the face (lips and cheek) added with red pencil.  Finally just a little white dot using a gel pen has been put in the eyes to add a little "life."  Finishing details come from a bit silver star (from Regal) and some stickers - star borders and "Brother" (a gold sticker coloured over with a black marker pen).

Another really cute card from Trudy this week.

Regal make these stepper cards, which come with envelopes, so all that you need to do is add the decoration.

In this case, Trudy has covered the front with patterned paper, stamped and coloured images on the sides, and added a sparklelight 3D picture (also available from Regal) as a feature in the middle.

Baby cards are often kept for a long time, so its worth making that little bit of extra effort

QUICK BABY CARD

A CARD FOR A BABY BOY

What better way to start the new year, than a card for a new baby.
Marilyn has used some simple materials to achieve a clean but cute result - just some striped paper, and a couple of plain blues coupled with some stickers.  All of which are stuck on top of a white textured singlefold card from Regal Craft Cards.

You could easily adapt the design by using different colours, and/or substituting the stickers for stamps or diecuts.

DECORATOR SHEET DIE CUT TEDDY CARD

TEDDY BEAR DIE CUT  

This  cute card, made by Lois, is ideal for a quick birthday or baby card.

The teddy bear and floral background are both from a Sparklelight die cut decorator sheet, which features a variety of bears and backgrounds.

The decorator sheet, sticker and purple base card are all available from Regal Craft Cards.

Lois has used mounting tape to raise the bear off the page, and has made a hole in the Best Wishes sticker so that a ribbon can be added.

EMBOSSED TREE WITH GLITTER

THE GLITTER TREE

Here is another card from the demo on glitter an shine - a fairly subtle example in this instance.

The tree has been embossed onto pale blue paper using a Couture Creations folder in a Cuttlebug.  The trunk and branches have been coloured with white Smooch and the flowers with crystal Stickles.  A bow, some Green Tara lace and some tiny rhinestones have been added to finish off.

This card was constructed on the back of one of Regal's photo slot cards (leaving the back for a removable photo or special message) but could be made on any of the larger singlefolds.

OFF THE PAGE DEMONSTRATION

BABY PHOTO DISPLAY BOARD

I couldn't wait until Friday to share this lovely project, completed by Sally Young, as part of her recent demonstration at Regal.

She has used a Kaiser swap card photo display board, and decorated it with a variety of kaiser and other products to create a beautiful depiction of a tiny baby.  Note the use of black and white photos to create a sense of unity .

Many of the panels could stand alone as a card or mini book page , as you can see from the enlarged panel on the right.

LITTLE DARLINGS BABY CARD

I just love Graphic 45 papers and the one I've used for this card is from their Little Darlings range.  I've used one of Regal's pretty blue singlefold cards as the base, and added some punched daisies with Kaiser pearl centres.  The blue panel at the bottom is edged with a Martha Stewart border punch and more pearls!
